Sarracenia oreophila, the endangered green pitcher plant or mountain trumpet plant, is native to a small area in the southeastern US. It features tall, slender green to yellow-green pitchers that trap insects and produces yellow flowers in spring. Uniquely, it develops non-carnivorous, sword-shaped leaves (phyllodia) in late summer. Found in moist, mountainous bogs, its survival is threatened by habitat loss and other factors. It's the most endangered North American pitcher plant.
