CARE GUIDE FOR PHILODENDRON

Light

Bright, indirect light: is essential for maintaining the pink variegation.

Avoid direct sunlight, as it can burn the pink areas of the leaves.

If growth becomes leggy or leaves are small, it may need more light.

Watering

Water thoroughly: when the top 1-2 inches of soil feel dry.

Ensure good drainage, as the plant does not like to sit in standing water.

Underwatering is preferable: to overwatering, which leads to root rot.

Soil & Potting

Use a chunky, well-draining potting mix with components like orchid bark and perlite.

Repot when the plant is root-bound, choosing a pot that is only slightly larger.

Temperature & Humidity

The ideal temperature range is 65-80°F (18-27°C).

High humidity: is beneficial; use a humidifier or a pebble tray to increase it.

Fertilizing

Feed the plant every 4-6 weeks during the spring and summer with a diluted, balanced liquid fertilizer.

Fertilize monthly during the fall and winter if maintaining a year-round growing environment.

Support & Pests

Provide a moss pole or stake to support the plant's growth as it climbs.

Check for common pests like spider mites and mealybugs, and address them by isolating the plant and treating as necessary.

If you see a completely green or predominantly pink leaf, you can prune it off to encourage new growth with better variegation.
